If you're looking for the best water heater brands in Nigeria, Volga, Ariston, Maxi and Polystar are four names to compare. Look closely at the heater you would buy: how much water it holds, where it can be fitted and what support comes with the purchase.

Which water heater brands in Nigeria should you compare?
Start by comparing heaters of the same capacity and intended use. The options below are examples from each brand's catalogue, rather than a complete list of everything they sell. A heater designed to sit under a sink should not be treated as a direct substitute for a bathroom model simply because both hold 15 litres.

All four have a 15-litre option among these examples. At 30 litres, you can compare our two designs with the listed Ariston and Maxi options, once your installer has confirmed which models suit the job. Volga: our square and cylindrical storage heaters
Our storage water heaters come in two designs: square heaters in 15 and 30 litres, and cylindrical heaters in 30, 50, 80 and 100 litres.
If you need 30 litres, you have a choice of shape within our range. That lets you consider the appearance and proposed position of the heater without changing the stated tank capacity. It does not mean the two designs have identical dimensions or installation requirements.
For a larger capacity, our cylindrical range also includes 50, 80 and 100-litre options. Choose the capacity around your hot-water routine first, then check the exact model's dimensions and mounting requirements against your space. A larger tank is not automatically the right choice for every home.

Ariston: compare the position as well as the capacity
Ariston's Andris RS range includes 10, 15 and 30-litre over-sink and under-sink versions. It is worth exploring when the position around a sink is a key part of your brief.
Select the correct version for that position and confirm its intended use. Andris RS is one family within Ariston's broader Nigerian storage-heater range, so the examples here should not be read as its full capacity range.
Maxi: 10, 15 and 30-litre options
For another quotation at 10, 15 or 30 litres, Fouani's Nigerian store lists the Maxi 10-20VE, 15-20VE and 30-20VE respectively. Maxi is a Fouani brand.
Use the model code when requesting a quote so you can check that the specification sheet, invoice and heater all refer to the same unit. These options give you a straightforward capacity match for comparing quotations; the final choice still depends on installation fit and the written terms.
Polystar: small vertical storage heaters
Polystar's PV-JY10LWH and PV-JY15LWH are 10 and 15-litre vertical electric tank heaters.
Include these in your shortlist if your installer has recommended a small-capacity vertical heater. If your demand calls for a larger tank, these two examples will not meet that capacity requirement. Ask about other models if you need a larger tank.
What makes a water heater the right choice for your home?
A good choice gives you enough hot water for your routine, fits the space and works with your home's water and electrical systems. We recommend checking these five things before settling on a model.
How much hot water do you need at the busiest time?
Think about a normal morning in your home. Does everyone shower one after another? Are two showers likely to run together? Or is hot-water use spread across the day?
Those details matter when choosing capacity. Two people taking long showers close together may need a different arrangement from a larger household whose showers are spread out.

Can your electrical supply support the heater?
Have a qualified professional check the heater's power rating against your supply and the protection required by the manufacturer. For electrical installation work in Nigeria, use a professional certified by the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA).
Tell them if you use a generator, inverter or solar-backed electrical system. They'll need the heater's specifications and details of the other appliances you expect to run at the same time.
For running costs, consider your hot-water use as well as the power rating. Wattage alone won't tell you what the monthly bill will be. Be specific when asking about energy savings: which model, compared with what, and under which conditions? More on water-heater energy use.
What should your installer know about your water supply?
Explain where your water comes from and whether you use a pump or pressure system. Your installer should check the supply against the heater's permitted pressure and the manufacturer's water-quality requirements.
If you use borehole water, mention any known water-quality problems and share test results if you have them. Ask how these affect the choice of heater and its care.
Will it fit, with room for maintenance?
Check the dimensions and the positions in which the heater can be installed. Your installer also needs to assess the mounting support, plumbing and space needed to reach the unit for maintenance.
If you're replacing an old heater, have the position and connections checked before ordering the new one. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and applicable Nigerian requirements for the installation.

A warranty needs more attention than its headline number of years. Which parts does it cover? Is labour included? Who handles a claim, and what records will you need? It's also worth asking how to obtain replacement parts and who to contact for after-sales help.
